48 hours in Antequera and its Paraje Natural del Torcal in the province of Malaga
Día 1115hChurch of the Convent of Bethlehem and its streets1Day 115:00hChurch of the Convent of Bethlehem and its streets
Discover the Church of the Convent of Bethlehem and its picturesque surrounding streets in the historic centre of this beautiful city. It is highly recommended to enter this building. Its austere exterior decoration contrasts with the detailed intricacies of the interior. Really spectacular.
16hAscent to the Royal Collegiate Church of Antequera2Day 116:00hAscent to the Royal Collegiate Church of Antequera
One of the most important buildings in Antequera due to its date of construction, it is considered to be the first church built in the Renaissance style and has been declared a National Monument.
Día 3317hVisit the Alcazaba and enjoy unique panoramic views3Day 317:00hVisit the Alcazaba and enjoy unique panoramic views
Declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1985, it is a place that you will enjoy touring and will transport you to another time.
- The price of La Alcazaba also includes a visit to the Royal Collegiate Church of Santa María.
Día 1419hViews from Mirador de Antequera4Day 119:00hViews from Mirador de Antequera
It is an ideal place for dinner, and you can also enjoy the views of the Alcazaba of Antequera to end the day.
- Try the Antequera porra and ask for the typical Antequera sweets. You will not regret it.
Día 2512hEl Tornillo del Torcal de Antequera5Day 212:00hEl Tornillo del Torcal de Antequera
This is one of the most unique examples of karstic formations in the Torcal de Antequera Natural Park. It is so called because of its similarity to a screw. Throughout the route you will enjoy the nature of a ZEC and ZEPA site.
Before starting your journey along the green route, don't forget to stop by El Tornillo. A unique and very fun geological formation that you can climb (with care) and take very good photos.
13hStart of the Green Route6Day 213:00hStart of the Green Route
It is a free visit and starts in the upper parking area. The green route converges with the yellow one and is a highly valued point for meditation lovers.
Look at the green marks on the posts so you don't get confused about the route.
Día 2713hThe Cathedrals7Day 213:10hThe Cathedrals
Here you can see one of the largest esplanades of these very special geological formations. During the tour we could observe many groups sunbathing and enjoying nature.
We recommend a stop in this area to rest and eat something.
Día 2813hCuatro Torres Square8Day 213:30hCuatro Torres Square
At this point we can observe formations in the form of quite high and pointed towers that contrast with the flattened forms of the rest of the route.
- Because we can find many cracks between the rocks, we must wear appropriate shoes and clothing to do this route.
This is one of my favourites on the Green Route and the one that impressed me the most during the tour.
- It is impressive to observe the rocks from this point of view
