I have always liked being in contact with nature and El Torcal de Antequera is the ideal place for any lover of the environment. With its whimsical geological formations over 150 million years old and its endemic fauna and flora, it is an enclave that will remain engraved in your memory.

This is one of the most unique examples of karstic formations in the Torcal de Antequera Natural Park. It is so called because of its similarity to a screw. Throughout the route you will enjoy the nature of a ZEC and ZEPA site.
Before starting your journey along the green route, don't forget to stop by El Tornillo. A unique and very fun geological formation that you can climb (with care) and take very good photos.

It is a free visit and starts in the upper parking area. The green route converges with the yellow one and is a highly valued point for meditation lovers.
Look at the green marks on the posts so you don't get confused about the route.

Here you can see one of the largest esplanades of these very special geological formations. During the tour we could observe many groups sunbathing and enjoying nature.

At this point we can observe formations in the form of quite high and pointed towers that contrast with the flattened forms of the rest of the route.

*Prepare your itinerary in advance and look for information about the sites you are going to see. *Have lunch at local sites and support local tourism. *Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear.

The Natural Park is also classified as a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA), and has been a Special Conservation Area (SCA) since 2014.
Sustainable travel tip
Use reusable water bottles to stay hydrated during the whole tour. If you find rubbish, pick it up and put it in a container at the end of the tour.
