The best-hidden gems on the Costa Brava.

A trip to the Costa Brava is mandatory for those who love the sea, exploring rocky coves and breathing fresh air. The tranquility that reigns in the Costa Brava has converted it into a well-known tourist destination. However, as always, there are some places only known by locals that still retain their magic. Choose your travel companions well, as this trip is a delight of wonderful landscapes, adventures and nature.

Before you travel

  • At Port Vendres you can make the most of the proximity to the border and hop across to a cheese shop to grab something for dinner that night at Cap de Creus cove. Don’t forget the jam!
  • Now’s also a good time to grab a bottle of wine to pair perfectly with the cheese you’ll have for dinner.
  • We recommend getting to Cala Jugadora later (8:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.), as it is prohibited to spend the night there. Also, be sure to wake up early (at dawn) so as not to come across people having a swim.
  • Take a mat or inflatable mattress to camp overnight at Cala Jugadora (the cove has a stony beach).
  • Enjoy nature with good insurance coverage for kayaking and hiking such as IATI Escapadas.
