12hVisit to the village of Covarubias2Day 112:30hVisit to the village of Covarubias
Covarrubias is a must on a trip to Burgos. It looks like a competition, to see which town has the most beautiful historical centre.
We recommend you to go to the historical centre, which has been declared of cultural interest, and let yourself be surprised by its traditional Castilian architecture, its cobbled streets and squares where you can taste its rich gastronomy. During this walk you will see the Ferran Gomez Tower, the Collegiate Church of Cosme and San Damián or the monument to Princess Cristina of Norway and a good end to the visit is to sit on a terrace in the Town Hall Square and recharge your batteries.

What is the relationship between Burgos and the film "The Good, the Ugly and the Bad"? Much more than you think...
In the middle of the Mirandilla Valley, between the towns of Contreras and Santo Domingo de Silos, is the Sad Hill cemetery, the place where the high point of the film "The Good, the Ugly and the Bad" was shot. They have recovered it in a very original way, by sponsoring tombs and have achieved 5,000 sponsorships. Entrance is free and you can have a drink in a food truck installed in the area.

18hNight in Santo Domingo de Silos4Day 118:00hNight in Santo Domingo de Silos
We had too much fun at the cemetery and the lights went out. To spend the night, we went with the van to the famous town of Santo Domingo de Silos.
Santo Domingo de Silos is known for the Gregorian chants that the monks recite every day. A pity to have arrived so late. We parked at the entrance of the village, with very little light pollution and the spectacle we had in the sky was like a postcard. We decided to spend the night here to be close to the first visit tomorrow. We prepared dinner in the van and went to bed.

Today we start the day by visiting one of those great curiosities of nature.
Very close to Santo Domingo de Silos we find the Yecla Gorge. It is a narrow canyon sculpted by the Arroyo del Cauce. The route is suitable for everyone and of course, you can bring your pet. You will enjoy this walk, which is a little over a kilometre long, between enormous vertical walls. The entrance is free.

The search has given us hunger and we tried the products of the land.
We have not told you that we travel with Yuki, our beautiful cocker who has us in love, but it is difficult to find where to eat with her. There are always solutions, either on the terrace or to go and we chose the latter option to give us a tribute in the van. Varied sausages, cheese and the famous black pudding revived us.

18hVisit to the village of Peñaranda de Duero9Day 218:00hVisit to the village of Peñaranda de Duero
This small town has one of the most beautiful squares we have ever visited.
The first visit should be to its castle to have a panoramic view of the whole village and after visiting the castle, go down to see the village up close. We focus on the main square, where the palace of the Dukes of Miranda, together with the collegiate church of Santa Ana and the monastery of the Franciscan Conceptionists, form a beautiful picture.
Before you travel
*Get up as early as possible. The most popular visits can be massified, try to do them at the very first hour to be more relaxed and to be able to take photos, almost alone.
*Plan where to spend the night, to make the most of the day from the very beginning.
*If you visit Burgos in August, you will enjoy the enormous fields of sunflowers in all their splendour.
