The essence of Cádiz

Our road trip starts in one of the most important towns of Cadiz: Jerez de la Frontera.

• You cannot miss the imposing Cathedral of San Salvador, the Alcazar or the Plaza de la Asunción.

In this famous corner of Cadiz we will walk through the essential Callejón de las Monjas, arriving at the Plaza del Cabildo and its spectacular Mirador de la Peña. 

• We cannot forget the Church of Santa María and its beautiful façade.

Many will relate this town to Rocio Jurado, but Chipiona is much more than just the singer. You will be surprised by its narrow streets, its beautiful Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Regla, the Lighthouse of Chipiona or the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la O.

When we think of Rota, the United States Army comes to mind. But here we can find incredible corners like the Palacio de Luna, the Church of the O or the Mercado de Abastos.

We visit the most emblematic places of La Tacita de Plata, such as Caleta Beach, the Cathedral, the Gran Teatro Falla and the Parque Genovés.

We walk through the streets of one of the most beautiful white villages in Cadiz in search of its most essential corners.

• Don't miss the Arco de la Pastora, the Church of Santa María la Mayor, the Castle of Medina Sidonia, the Arco de Belén.

We take advantage of our journey to approach the spectacular beaches and corners of Chiclana and Conil, such as La Barrosa, Sancti Petri Castle, Cala Encendida, Cala del Aceite and Roche beach. 

• We cannot forget the Mirador Cabo de Roche, with its incredible views and cliffs.

We enjoy one of the most magical sunsets in Cadiz, watching the sunset under the Atlantic Ocean.

• We can take the opportunity to drink a mojito in one of its chiringuitos while watching the sunset.

We reach another of the most spectacular white villages. Located at the top of a mountain 200 meters high, its views are incredible.

• Not to be missed in Vejer: Divino Salvador Church, Plaza de España and its famous Fuente de los Pescaítos, Puerta de Sancho IV... We also take the opportunity to have dinner in the Jardín del Califa, with its delicious dishes of Arab inspiration.

We approach the spectacular beach of Caños de Meca and the impressive Trafalgar Lighthouse.

We arrive at one of the most famous and beautiful villages of Cadiz, taking the opportunity to eat at one of its mythical beach bars.

• Don't miss Playa del Búnquer or Cala de los Alemanes and Playa de Zahara de los Atunes.

In this village by the sea, is one of the most surprising corners of Cadiz: the Baelo Claudia Archaeological Site, an ancient Roman city whose origins date back to the end of the 2nd century BC. When organising the road trip, please note that it is closed on Mondays. Another must see in Bologna is its spectacular dune facing the sea.

• Indispensable in Bologna: Duna and Baelo Claudia.

Our journey takes us to the southernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula: Tarifa. From here, we can see the coast of Morocco.

• Don't miss its spectacular beaches, the Mirador El Estrecho (overlooking Morocco) and the Castillo de Guzmán. If you like it, you can take advantage of it and go kitesurfing! We recommend you spend the night in the charming Hotel Arte Vida Tarifa, located at the foot of the beach.

We took advantage of the trip to get to one of the most impressive villages in southern Spain: Ronda, which is located on the border between Malaga and Cadiz.

• You will be speechless in front of its New Bridge, visiting places like the Arab Baths, the House of the Moorish King or the Gardens of Cuenca.

We go into Grazalema to visit its Plaza de España, with the Town Hall and the Church of La Aurora, as well as the coquettish Church of San Juan.

Another of the most spectacular villages in Cadiz, located in the Sierra de Grazalema.
