Route inland Málaga: Ronda, Torcal de Antequera and Caminito del Rey

We start the day visiting the archaeological site of Acinipo, located 18 km from Ronda. You will be able to contemplate the remains of this ancient Roman city, also known as "Ronda La Vieja", surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The star of the visit is its impressive theatre, one of the best preserved in Spain.

We arrive in Ronda, one of the most beautiful villages in Andalusia. A corner full of legends and history where you will find impressive churches, palaces, parks and of course, the Tajo.    

• Ronda is big, so to make the most of your time, plan a little bit of the monuments you want to visit. Don't miss the Bullring, the House of the Moorish King or the old city walls.

Located very close to the Puente Viejo, they are the best preserved Arab baths in the whole of the Iberian Peninsula, thanks to a great deal of reconstruction work.    

• The hall covered with vaults is spectacular. The entrance costs 3 euros.

In the afternoon, take a walk along the edges of the Tajo de Ronda. The Alameda dle Tajo runs along the edge of the abyss, acting as a constant lookout point. The most spectacular point is the Mirador de Ronda, although everyone knows it as the "Balcón del Coño". Can you imagine why?    

• To see the other side of the Tagus, cross the new bridge and go to the Aldehuela viewpoint. It is just as impressive.

To finish, the most spectacular corner of Ronda: contemplate the New Bridge from a small overhang of the Tajo. No matter how many times you go, it will always impress.    

•  Get to the viewpoint, take a small path that starts from the Plaza de Maria Auxiliadora. And if you can, make the visit coincide with the sunset, when the bridge lights up. You will see what a postcard!.

We start the day by visiting the most spectacular karst landscape in Europe. For millions of years, the forces of nature have been shaping the stones into infinite shapes that will leave you amazed. Truly, this place seems to be from another planet.    

• Play and look for the shapes of the stones. There are hundreds of shapes, the best known being the finger, the camel and of course the screw, the icon of the park.

We leave behind the whimsical stones to go into another spectacular natural corner: the Caminito del Rey. A footpath like a footbridge that runs through the interior of the deep Gaitanes Gorge.    

• Due to the great popularity of this path, you should take out the entrance in advance. Do it through the official website: www.caminitodelrey.info/es/. Price of the ticket: 10 euros.

The hanging bridge at the end of the route deserves a special mention.    

• It is not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo, as it is the point where you have the greatest feeling of emptiness. However, it is totally safe and there are always employees to help you.

After a good walk full of strong emotions, there is nothing better than relaxing at the edge of this swamp.     

• From the car park of the little road, you can see the Casa del Conde de Guadalhorce, possibly the most beautiful postcard of the reservoir.
