9hExcursion to the Sanctuary of Lord4Day 29:30hExcursion to the Sanctuary of Lord
Today's excursion consists of going up to the Lord's Sanctuary. The more sporty ones can start the route from the Lord's Inn. Otherwise, you can drive to the car park (10 min), the starting point of the climb. The path to the top is in good condition and will take you no more than 20 minutes.
The Sanctuary is located in a privileged place in the Vall de Lord, it is the Mola de Lord plateau at 1150m. It is dated from the 10th century although due to the conflict between Liberals and Carlines it had to be rebuilt in the 19th century. As proof, as soon as you reach the top, you will find a cannon that was used by the Carlist troops.Nowadays it is a place of worship. From its surroundings we can see the whole Vall de Lord, with all its splendour. You will see the village of Sant Llorenç de Morunys, the Port del Comte, the Busa mountain range, the Bastets... and you will be surprised how the Llosa del Cavall reservoir gives the area its characteristic colours, which are difficult to forget.
Recommended route to do with children from 6 years old on foot. Take the road that crosses the village towards Port del Comte. At the top of the village you will see the sign on the left hand side towards Santuari de Lord/St. Serni del Grau. Take the detour in a sharp right-hand turn and leave the main road. Follow the secondary road until you reach the parking of the Santuari de Lord. It is important to optimize cars because the parking area is reduced.

18hRoute through Sant Llorenç de Morunys6Day 218:00hRoute through Sant Llorenç de Morunys
Once rested, one option is to take a walk through the village. Luckily the house is located just a minute's walk from the centre of Sant Llorenç de Morunys. A village of about 900 inhabitants, which preserves its medieval structure in the form of a pentagon. You can still see the entrances of its old walls from the 12th century. We recommend visiting the church and its beautiful Romanesque style cloister. This church was declared a historical-artistic monument in 1976. It suffered a fire during the civil war, from which a part of it could be saved, which is called "Altar dels Colls". It is a work of art from the Catalan Baroque period, in the form of a chapel, built in 1784 by Folgueloras. It is remarkable for its cured scenic composition and its paintings in gold. You can also see the altarpiece of San Miguel and Sant Esperit. In the cloister you will see the museum of Sant Llorenç de Morunys.
Going out through the door of the wall next to the church you will find the Canal Square, an old wash house of the village, currently restored. Following the road towards La Coma, approximately 800 metres away you will find a path on the right hand side that goes down to the Puente de Vallonga, a medieval bridge. It was formerly a crossing point along the salt trade route between Cardona and La Seu d'Urgell. With the construction of the Llosa del Cavall reservoir, in 1987 it was dismantled and rebuilt stone by stone in its new location, which separates the municipalities of Sant Llorenç de Morunys and Guixers. Finally, to finish the route, following the road for 100 metres towards La Coma, you will find the Romanesque chapel of Santa Creu dels Ollers on your right. The chapel, which dates from the 11th century, has a single rectangular nave and a semicircular apse decorated with bands of Lombard lezens.

20hDinner in front of the fireplace7Day 220:00hDinner in front of the fireplace
For dinner we recommend booking a place in one of the many restaurants in the village, where you will find a great variety of cuisine. If you want to enjoy the house, you can always order some pizzas (which are delicious) and eat them quietly in front of the fireplace.

9hSailing through the Llosa del Cavall9Day 39:30hSailing through the Llosa del Cavall
If the weather is good and the temperature is right, it is ideal to go with a kayak through the swamp. Near the village, about 5 minutes by car, there are several places where you can rent kayaks, paddle surfing or skates for very affordable prices. The Llosa del Cavall reservoir, completed in 1997, is an effluent of the river Cardener and its location in the middle of a deep valley generates an infinite number of idyllic corners worth admiring.
If, on the other hand, the temperature is not right, you can visit the source of the same river, the well-known Fonts del Cardener, in the neighbouring village of La Coma and only 10 minutes by car from the Posada de Lord. There is a parking area there and you have to walk about 300 m on the flat to get to the springs. Depending on the time of year, you can see how the torrential water comes down with more or less force depending on the thaw, even generating some small waterfalls, which surrounded by vegetation make the site a special and unique place. The area has some tables and barbecues ideal for making vermouth".
At the Lord's Inn there are discounts for kayaks. We recommend that you wear river shoes, as this will make it more comfortable for you to get in the water and climb to the shore. In the Fonts del Cardener the water is drinkable and very good.
