Wonderful corners of the province of Guadalajara
Día 1110hLavender Fields in Brihuega1Day 110:00hLavender Fields in Brihuega
One of the classic photos of Guadalaja are the lavender fields of Brihuega. They are very fashionable on Instagram. On the way you can visit Torija to see its castle, which can already be seen from the A2.
The village of the famous author known as "the Archpriest of Hita". A walled medieval village that has preserved all its medieval essence. In summer they organize jousts and medieval battles.
Don't miss the remains of the church of San Pedro and take advantage of the opportunity to have breakfast in the main square of the Archpriest…
Possibly one of the most historic and beautiful places in Guadajalara. Take the opportunity to walk around its streets and see the different palaces in the historical centre.
- Its most famous visitor is the "Doncel de Sigüenza", the famous sculpture located in a chapel of the Cathedral.
Starting from Pelegrina Castle I recommend you to do the trekking route of the Barrando de Rio Dulce, one of the places where Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente filmed his famous series "Man and Earth". If you go in spring or early summer you can surely enjoy the Gollorio waterfall.
There are several viewpoints on the road if you don't want to go hiking. One of them is dedicated to Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente.
Día 2510hMolina de Aragón5Day 210:00hMolina de Aragón
With its castle on top of a hill, Molina de Aragón (which is in Guadalaja) left us with a bittersweet taste. It is a town with spectacular potential but one that has not yet been restored or maintained as it should be. But this place will be a marvel as soon as it is fixed up a bit.
Don't miss the "Romanesque bridge". Oh, and on the way to Molina de Aragón you can stop off at Rillo de Gallo, where one of the neighbours has a house with a Modernist-style façade, as if it were by Gaudí.

Now we propose you a small hiking route of easy level. You can park at the Fuente del Berro, but you can get much closer to the start of the route by going almost to the Salto de Poveda, which is the most impressive waterfall we will see here. You can also see the Taravilla lagoon.
Be careful when passing the suspension bridge over the Tagus River. Last time it was cut by the coronavirus and we had to cross the river on foot.
Before you travel
*We recommend that you wear comfortable footwear for the hiking routes *Carry water and food in your backpack
